AFRICA/MALAWI – Appointment of the new Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies, Rev. Fr. Peter Ephraim Madeya: Vatican City – On 26 September 2023, Cardinal Luis Antonio G. Tagle, Pro-Prefect of the Dicastery for Evangelization, appointed the Rev. Fr. Peter Ephraim Madeya of the clergy Catholic Diocese of Dedza in Malawi as National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Malawi for five years.
Born on October 10, 1981, Fr. Madeya was ordained a priest on August 20, 2011. He was the deputy parish priest and parish priest in two parishes. He is currently a parish priest, diocesan director of the PMS, president of the Diocesan FIA board, Deputy Secretary and Secretary for the Diocesan Projects Commission.
