A sea of the faithful and people of goodwill in ceremonially coloured face masks converged on Bembeke Cathedral grounds in Dedza today to witness the consecration of Fr. Peter Adrian Chifukwa as Bishop of the diocese of Dedza.

Due to rising cases of Covid-19 in Malawi due to the third wave of the pandemic, the Diocese of Dedza has announced the postponement of the consecration of the new Bishop to Saturday 28th August 2021.

The Episcopal Conference of Malawi officially introduced the newly appointed Bishop of Dedza, Rev Father Peter Adrian Chifukwa to President Chakwera.
