DEATH ANNOUNCEMENT
The Catholic Secretariat of the Episcopal Conference of Malawi regrets to announce the death of Rev. Fr. Billy Blazio Pedegu of the Diocese of Dedza.
Father Pedegu died this afternoon at Mua Hospital in Dedza District after succumbing to acute pneumonia. He once suffered from a minor stroke and he was recovering at Bembeke Retirement Home.
Fr. Pedegu was born on 17th January 1955 at Muyowe Village, Traditional Authority Tambala, Chiphwanya Parish in Dedza District.
He was ordained a priest on 24th August 1985.
As a priest, Fr. Pedegu served in the following parishes; Mua, Mzama, Chipoka, Bembeke, Mtakataka, Kasina and Nsipe. He also served as Bursar at St. Kizito Minor Seminary, Diocesan Youth Chaplain, Diocesan Vocations Director, Bishop’s Secretary, CADECOM Board Chairperson and Bishop’s Representative at Mua Hospital.
The funeral and burial ceremony will take place on Friday, 5th November at Bembeke. The eucharistic celebration will start at 10:00 am at Bembeke Cathedral.
