Our Lady of Fatima, Chipoka Parish celebrated its Golden Jubilee on Saturday 27th July 2024. At the occasion, Bishop Peter Adrien Chifukwa also ordained five deacons to the priesthood.
The five priests are Fr Flavius Makwinja – who has been posted to Chipoka Parish, Fr Alberto Fabiano Dzuwa – who has been posted to Kasina Parish, Fr. Fredrick Yamikani Hauya – who has been posted to Chiphwanya Parish, Fr Montfort Mtengo – who has been posted to Dedza Parish and Fr Jack Martin Kaidi – who has been posted to Ntcheu Parish
At the same event, Pope Francis gave Certificates of Recognition to four people who have helped the diocese in various ways. The four are Ms Innocentia Ottober, Brigadier George Liwimbi (Rtd), Mr Paul Idana ndi Mai Mary Petro.
Ms Ottober and Brigadier Liwimbi are attorneys who have provided their services to the Diocese. Mr Paul Idana was a Catechist at Chipoka Parish from 1974 – 2001 and 2004 – 2018. Mai Petro is a lady who has helped the church in Chipoka for many years.
