Malawi Catholic bishops donate to Cyclone Ana flood victims

The Episcopal Conference of Malawi (ECM) today launched the 2022 Tropical Storm Ana flood response initiative at Tomali Camp under St. Matthews Parish in Chikwawa District. Led by the President of the conference, Archbishop George Desmond Tambala, bishops donated food and non-food items to over 1,500 households affected by the floods.

Archbishop Tambala says the church is preaching love through giving and promoting unity, peace and solidarity.
The ECM launched an appeal through all Catholic faithful for cash and goods to help flood victims in the Lower Shire. The donated items include maize flour, cooking oil, sugar, salt, blankets and kitchen utensils.

Present at the event were Archbishop Desmond Tambala of Lilongwe, Archbishop Thomas Luke Msusa of Blantyre, Bishop Musikuwa of Chikwawa, Bishop Mtumbuka of Karonga and Bishop Peter Chifukwa of Dedza.
